A member of the Virginia Bar Association, Claire C. Carr is a Richmond, VA-based lawyer who focuses on insurance defense litigation. Since becoming a partner in 1998 and then managing partner of Kalbaugh, Pfund & Messersmith’s (KPM’s) Workers’ Compensation Department in 1999, she has tried hundreds of cases on behalf of, among others, third-party administrators, self-insured companies, and insurance carriers. Claire C. Carr spent her first seven years with KPM as a trial attorney defending personal injury claims. She became as vice president in 2016 and continues to chair the firm's workers' compensation department.
Before joining the firm in 1992, Claire Carr gained legal experience as a law clerk with the Supreme Court of Virginia’s Office of the Chief Staff Attorney and Senior Justice Richard H. Poff. She also garnered valuable internship experience with Richmond, VA, lawyer David Baugh and the Office of the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia.
Ms. Carr received her JD from the University of Richmond School of Law and BS in business/marketing management from Virginia Tech.
