I am an extremely outgoing and driven corporate communication masters student with an ever-curious nature, always seeking opportunities to develop myself and learn more. My passions lie in experiencing new places and things, pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, and doing good for the world. I believe that successful communications are essential for the survival of any organisation, and I hope to learn more and work in this fascinating field to make a difference in the world.
The bulk of my work at Stadium consists of direct sales to the customers as well as customer service activities which often have a strong element of problem-solving attached to them. Pressure-handling is also in a central role at this very busy work place and I have greatly enjoyed challenging myself in this fast-paced environment and learning more about sales and customer relations.
As a substitute teacher at Espoo International School I have been teaching all grades from 1 to 9 (ages 6 to 15) in any subject required, including, but not limited to: History, Business studies, English, French, Physical Education and Finnish. In this international environment I have been able to work with children and staff of varied backgrounds, which has certainly enriched my work experience. Pressure handling, creative problem solving, and flexibility in the face of constant change are skills that I have most notably developed further in this job role and continue to do so each day I am at work.
During my time as a Day Camp Counselor for 6-10 year olds, I was tasked with planning out and implementing our daily schedules and activities, motivating the children to take part and enjoy exercise, and ultimately being responsible for the children and solving any problems they may have during the day.
At CreateTrips, a social mobile travel application start-up, my role as a marketing intern has allowed me to undertake a multitude of different tasks such as:
Developing and implementing Social Media marketing strategy
Assisting with Public Relations
Broadening relations with social media influencers
As a member of the events team I helped plan and organise events (such as a 5km obstacle course run) aimed to promote and encourage sports within the student body.
As a QMU Freshers' Helper I helped first year students find their way around campus and move in. I was also involved in organising and running events at the union targeted at the new students in addition to activities promoting the university and union overall.
During this time period I worked every summer for an average of three months as well as consecutively from June 2010 to September 2011 in most departments in the supermarket 'Citymarket Iso Omena'. For one month I substituted as head of the bread department which meant that I was in charge of dealing with customer queries, placing all orders and reclaims, as well as shelving the products by myself. I also worked in the café where my job entailed, among other things: customer service, working the cash register, and I was ultimately responsible for coordinating and maintaining the overall functioning of the café myself.
During my exchange semester I have been challenged by partaking in the rigorous Turning Business into Technology Block Seminar at the European Space Agency, the Business Communication Seminar and courses in International Strategy and Sustainability Leadership and Planetary Boundaries.
A two year joint masters programme in Corporate Communications and CEMS where I have been studying a variety of subjects including but not limited to; Visual and Multimodal Communication, Communication in Strategy Work, Strategic Human Resource Management, Issues Management and Gender & Diversity at Work.
Commerce courses including: Strategic Marketing, Business and Sustainable Development, and Social and Nonprofit Marketing
and
History courses including: Human Rights in World History, Slavery in the Americas, and Europe in the Later Middle Ages As well as studying Swedish for both term 1 and term 2
A four-year Joint Honors program from which I graduated with a first-class degree (with a year spent abroad during my third year). Courses I took included subjects in:
For Business and Management: Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Managing in the Public Sector
and
