A graduate of California State University Sacramento, Chuck Thibideau earned his bachelor's degree in social science, followed by a master's in child, family, and marriage counseling. He also completed his teaching credentials, beginning his career in education as a social sciences teacher with Hiram Johnson High School in the Sacramento Unified School District. In the following years, Chuck Thibideau continued teaching subjects from social sciences to AVID advancement.

In 1999, he accepted his first position as an assistant principal at Goethe Middle School, where he created programs to reward positive student behaviors and built and then implemented lesson plans in the classroom. He went on to become principal of Ethel I. Baker Elementary School and then Breen Elementary School, where he focused on spearheading high academic standards. In 2017, he joined Rocklin Independent Charter Academy and Victory Alternative School as assistant principal.

Alongside his work in the Rocklin Unified School District, Chuck Thibideau enjoys bicycling and has participated in the Markleeville Death Ride six times. In one year he competed in the event in order to raise funds to buy computers for students at Breen Elementary School. He has also bicycled across Europe, visiting Austria, France, and Germany.
