  • During my time in the military I developed very strong communication skills in a lot of different fields not only with superior officers but also with young soldiers under all kinds of circumstances including high levels of stress as well as in a calm and organizational manner. It was part of my job to plan and hold classes and to give training courses and hold presentations. Speaking in public and to bigger groups quickly became as normal as the preparations and post support (From booking rooms to organizing supporting materials as well as written explanations of further questions that arose). Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities were developed during the process and further strengthened. Teamwork and coordinating tasks and staff members to accomplish the targets required strong communication skills each and every day.
Quickly I developed the necessary skills to find the right tone and the correct vocabulary depending on the person and the situation of various conversations to complete missions and tasks. Adapting to the quickly changing environment and working with teams from all over the world, it was an absolute necessity to understand and adapt to cultural differences and working conditions during multinational deployments.

A part of my duties as a non commissioned officer was training and leading young soldiers coming from a multicultural environment. Organizational skills were needed on a daily basis and comprised a bright variety of the day to day job. Ranging from organizing the availability of equipment to organizing the available workforce for each shift up to increasing the productivity in the daily business. As a team leader I not only had to organize and manage the forms and applications required, but also the availability of vehicles and other supporting material and finally managing the team itself to have a unit working together as a team and not as individuals.
Organizing and coordinating the smooth flow of parts, equipment, transportation availability and even the manpower provided was a sometimes challenging experience. Organizational skills were an absolute must in terms of effectively organizing staffing and controls and for leading, coordinating and motivating all company workers. Management skills are also involved in the preparation and execution of business plans, policies and procedures as well as the direction and supervision of all company employees which also is the case for any outside providers of professional or other contract services.

Keeping records up to date and the correct documentation of various activities by using computer programs was an important part of my daily work. I have no difficulties writing Emails and developing documents using computers during such processes.
Solving the even most complex tasks, it became routine to work in the most efficient and thorough way to deliver the desired results, that included working under pressure with deadlines under rapidly changing environments such as suddenly appearing heavy workloads and of course physical stress.

During the almost six years I have been living in the USA, working in a multinational environment communicating entirely in the foreign language English was part of the daily business and is not a problem for me whatsoever.
Integrating myself into a multinational team was a life changing experience which I deeply appreciate.
