About Me
My name is Chris DOBE and I am in 4th year of study at the ESTACA where I prepare a Master's degree in Engineering.

I have always been fascinated by technology and complex systems.
As soon as I started my second year at the ESTACA I decided to join an association named ESO (Estaca Space Odissey) devoted to the building of hand-made rockets. I integrated a team where I could take part in the conception of an airborne rocket with a remote-controlled plane. Besides I have also a great interest for theorical sciences and physics what motivated me to make an Initiation Project to Research in Fluids and Energetics (PIRATE Project) during my third year. This project aimed at studying the influence of nozzles geometry on the characteristics of a flow field.
In September 2013 I began my 4th year and chose Space as specialisation. The PIRATE project that I began last year had initially a duration of two years, so for my fourth year, me and my teammate decided to orientate this research project towards the impinging jet nozzles that are used in all the rocket engines of the Ariane launchers family.

My main goal in life is to improve my knowledge of sciences and also to participate in the conception of launchers and spacecrafts of the future. I'm keen on understanding new physical phenomenon and I am very curious and hardworking.

For this year, I hope finding a work placement of 4 or 5 months in a company of the space field located in a foreigner country.

Company Description
Snecma (Safran group) develops, produces and markets engines for commercial airplanes. Through CFM International (CFM), for instance, we team up with our American counterpart GE to produce the CFM56 engine that powers a number of different Airbus and Boeing jetliners. The CFM56 is the best-selling and most reliable engine of its generation. We also work with GE on the large turbofans CF6-80, GE90 and GP7200, which power long-range widebody jets. And we are developing the SaM146 regional jet engine in partnership with Russian engine-maker NPO Saturn, as well as gearing up for the new Silvercrest business jet engine. The engines we produce are known for their performance, reliability, economical operation and environmental friendliness.
