An education leader with over 15 years of experience, Cherith Roberts started her career as an elementary school teacher with Bristol Tennessee City Schools. She worked briefly as an interim sixth-grade teacher before accepting a full-time position on the fifth-grade team at Bristol’s Avoca Elementary School. After more than five years in the classroom, Cherith Roberts moved into an administrative role in the district.
From 2007 to 2017, Dr. Roberts served as the assistant principal of Holston View Elementary School. During her tenure, she helped lead Holston View through a period of significant achievement. In 2007, the school received the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award, which the US Department of Education only gives to the nation’s top-performing schools. Holston View was also named a Tennessee Department of Education Reward School for the 2012-13 and 2014-15 academic years.
In preparation for her career in education, Cherith Roberts attended King University and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She later continued her studies at East Tennessee State University, where she earned master and doctor of education degrees.
