Serving as BMO Capital Markets executive managing director of debt products until his retirement in 2012, Charles “Charlie” Piermarini oversaw money market and fixed income aspects of operations. An executive committee member, Charlie Piermarini built on experience leading the major direct brokerage Harrisdirect as president and CEO.
Mr. Piermarini’s background extends to responsibilities with BMO Nesbitt Burns, Capital Markets, as executive managing director. In the position, he focused on guiding a range of strategic initiatives, including the implementation of an e-commerce platform.
Charles Piermarini’s experience with the BMO organization extends to the 1980s, when he was initially assigned to the London office before taking on a role in Toronto. In the latter location he managed money markets, as well as derivatives trading and sales.
Charlie Piermarini subsequently joined Household International as vice president of capital markets and was tasked with oversight of trading, funding, and fixed income derivative activities. Accepting responsibilities with NationsBank as portfolio manager in the early 1990s, he spearheaded a move to diversify the company beyond treasury notes. This included developing a portfolio that included instruments ranging from foreign government securities to interest rate derivatives.
