A philanthropist, Chandi Heffner guides the CDH International Foundation (CDHFI) as founder and president. The organization supports communities in India by providing health care for humans and animals, and by distributing food and other supplies. While fulfilling the needs of many, the foundation promotes the preservation of traditional cultures. In running CDHFI, Chandi Heffner oversees the agency's many initiatives by working hand-in-hand with field staff to address the suffering of both animals and people. Ms. Heffner spends the vast majority of the year in India.
Upon its inception by Chandi Heffner, the CDHFI was a small group. With the passing of time, however, it has grown into a large undertaking capable of assisting many tens of thousands of humans and animals annually. Under Ms. Heffner's management, the charity delivers medical assistance at no cost to patients. CDHFI also funds community projects that employ hundreds of workers for months to perform public services, such as cleaning up the environment. In addition, CDHFI funds funerals for individuals who pass away without friends or family to handle arrangements.
