Carl Radford has spent over two decades in the financial sector, during which he has worked with multiple firms. A former head of derivatives at HSBC, Carl Radford oversaw the derivatives trading department and focused on the New Zealand and Australian dollars.
Overseeing three staff members, he was the head book runner for the long-end swap book. While working with HSBC, Mr. Radford also served as a senior trader. He initially joined the firm as a trader, a role he spent three years in.
Since 2012, he has worked with Bluecrest Capital as a portfolio manager. Carl Radford spent five years in the role at the company’s Singapore offices, where he was responsible for managing over $200 million in capital. He has subsequently moved to Bluecrest’s offices in San Francisco, where he holds the same position.
Working alongside the rates group, Mr. Radford has specialized in relative value trading fixed-income markets across the Australian and New Zealand dollars. A graduate of Sydney University, he earned his bachelor of commerce in 1999. He majored in economics, marketing, and finance.
