In May 2018, Cara DeLuca graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Communications and Spanish. While at UConn, she earned a Spanish Academic Achievement Award from the university's Department of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages, and earned induction into Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association's honor society. Cara DeLuca also joined the UConn Advertising Society, through which she developed advertising strategies for clients and visited advertising agencies.
Additionally, Cara DeLuca gained diverse pre-professional experiences. She served as an intern with the Brown University School of Public Health in the summer after her freshman year, and in the spring semester of 2017, she traveled to Spain to serve as a social media and marketing intern with Discover Excursions. She remained in Spain as an intern with Murillo Media, a competitive position in which she developed social media and marketing strategies
Cara DeLuca also has served as a campus manager for Power Crunch, a role in which she planned events and developed strategies to increase awareness for the brand. She also served as a marketing and communications intern at the University of Connecticut's Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity, collaborating with the center's communications director to boost involvement and spread awareness of its work.
