Brian Richmond

Brian Richmond brings more than two decades of experience to his position as senior data scientist of product intelligence at Aura Health. In this role, he designs, builds, and manages the data infrastructure that provides insight for decision makers including the CEO and company co-founders. Additionally, Brian Richmond develops machine-learning models and the recommendation engine that drives personalized content for Aura's mobile app.

Prior to joining Aura Health, Brian Richmond served as a data scientist at the co-working startup giant WeWork, where he created and led the company’s people analytics team and earned top honors such as WeWork's Employee Excellence Award. Among other accomplishments in this position, he utilized forecasting, network analysis, and natural language processing to develop strategies that improved the employee experience and productivity.

Brian Richmond also stands out as the former co-leader of the NY HR Analytics Meetup, an organization of more than 1,200 human resources professionals who gather each month to discuss the latest development in people analytics. Before entering the data analytics field, he led a distinguished career as a professor of anthropology, earning top awards such as the Humboldt Research Award. He holds a BA in biology and history from Rice University and a PhD in anthropological sciences from Stony Brook University.
