Over the course of his career, Chicago-based Brian Posen has performed in, directed, and produced hundreds of theatrical productions. He has taught at theaters and universities around the country, including the famed Steppenwolf Theater and the Actors Theater of Louisville, and at his own alma maters of the University of Illinois and Columbia College Chicago. Brian Posen has taught for 25 years at The Second City, the renowned comedy theater in Chicago, where he now leads as program head.

He recently led as artistic director of Stage 773, where he programmed numerous musical, dramatic, and comedic productions. He also engaged Stage 773 as host to the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, which he founded in 2001. He has continued to lead as the executive producer of the festival, which now welcomes more than 10,000 patrons and 1,000 artists from all over the world.

In addition, as founder and director of The Cupid Players, Mr. Posen developed and directed Cupid Has a Heart On. This open-run comedy production has received widespread acclaim from New City Stage and other area media outlets.
