Responsible to support in area installation, maintenance and troubleshoot backup solution (IBM Spectrum Protect [TSM] / EMC Avamar, Commvault, DELL Data Domain)
Ensures smooth and proper running of databases and backup solution for TNB systems including standalone, cluster and Backup replication (Electronic Volting)
Assist in planning and implement firmware/software patch for backup solution.
Assist in planning and implement system security for backup solution.
Assists Manager (Backup & Database), Lead (IaaS) and Co-work with Unit ECS-Infra & Solution in planning, designing and implementing enterprise systems related to area backup solution.
Participate of Disaster Recovery (DR) activities to ensure availability of TNB systems in area of backup solution (restoration)
Prepare and evaluate technical specification for contract management and tender documents related to backup solution.
Continually improve processes and services related to backup (IBM Spectrum Protect [TSM] / EMC Avamar, Commvault, DELL Data Domain), to meet ever changing business environment and customers need.
Perform and construct the process and the document of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for service interruption on TNB systems related to area of backup (IBM Spectrum Protect [TSM] / EMC Avamar, Commvault, DELL Data Domain).
Responsible for systems administration for the group, including networks, applications and operating systems, which inclusive of implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, security, and usage monitoring.
Perform systems (Linux & Windows platform) installation and setup, systems monitoring, system performance tuning and system resources.
Responsible for administering and maintaining the systems / servers to support the business operations and end users.
Assist to troubleshoot and provide users with technical support on both hardware and software. Provide support to our end users via phone and ticketing system.
Monitoring servers and network in different data centers.
Server system performance monitoring IBM AIX 5.3 Unix & Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 i.e to check system status, error check, hard disk status, file system, physical volume allocation and system statistics.
Database ORACLE 10g maintenance and monitoring i.e to check instances status, background process, listener, tablespace, datafiles, storage activities, DB session and connection.
Backup i.e full system IBM AIX 5.3 Unix backup and volume group backup
Database ORACLE 10g backup i.e entire database export, cold backup, volume group backup and daily entire database backup.
Problem escalation.
Produce weekly and monthly preventive maintenance reports.
Hardware support of DVR (CCTV System) server, Helpdesk Server (Time Management System and ID Scanner System), Gateway Server (Wingate/Gatekeeper Proxy System and MDaemon Mail System), ERP Cluster Server and SQL Cluster server (Microsoft Dynamics AX 4 Systems *on-going project which schedule to complete by mid-year of 2008) and Novell Server (which will be drop after the Microsoft Dynamics AX 4 System up and running).
Computer peripherals support of computers, label printer, inkjet printer, dot-matrix printer, DeskJet printer, UPS, managed switch/hub, un-managed switch/hub, network cable, CCTV camera, Id scanner, barcode scanner, ip print server, scanner, Veritas Backup Tape, Storage Area Network and wireless access point.
Worked closely with contractors, vendors, service provider and consultants in IT projects.
In-house system support of Human Resources System, MIS System, Helpdesk System, Production System, Quality Assurance System, Warehouse System, Time Management System, Clinic System, Maintenance System, ERP Microsoft Dynamics AX 4 System, MDaemon Mail System and Wingate/Gatekeeper Proxy System.
