Ability to understand, identify, analyze & recommend the changing business demands of property & casualty related risks exposed to an organization. Proficient in underwriting various types of insurance policies to businesses/individuals including automobile (motor), fire, property, medical and aviation.
Communicate regularly with potential clients to offer insurance deals based on their financial status, requirements and needs, including physical condition of individual or insured property, all in order to improve insurance coverage.
Manage a team of 10 insurance agents and 1 Broker and trained them; acquaint them with varied insurance products used by organization to ensure knowledgeable salesmanship. Acquire new channel partners to grow the top line with a healthy bottom-line.
Monitor insurance claims, maintain customers’ records and handle policy renewals. The Current renewal ratio stands at 87%, up by 10%.
Conduct market surveys for gathering information about customers’ choices and preferences regarding insurance products and ongoing market trends in insurance industry.
Cross-sell and up-sell the products to existing clients by understanding their needs.
Liaison with the various department heads for underwriting and claims at our head office in Barbados for smooth functioning of the Belize office.
Management compliances - Preparing Monthly Insurance report giving month’s insurance activity to the management, MIS reporting, Audit Compliances, Budget formulation, Internal Management Notes on insurance
Financials – To achieve budgeted GWP, portfolio mix and manage the P & L
People – To work effectively in a cross functional environment including constructive engagement with corporate office level function heads
Process – To develop / implement a robust process which would include: No. of relationships to be handled by each team member including no. of visits each month Implement agreed SLAs for sending quotations, answering queries from customers etc. Develop strategies for targeted customers including study of their existing insurance portfolio and evolve suitable entry strategies Track budget and variance on a monthly basis and escalate to Corporate Office Underwrite various motor and non motor products. Ensure proper flow of claims along with customer service.
Training – To develop along with Corporate Office suitable training program for sales force.
