Detailed Description
  • Currently responsible for loading the genome sequence of bread wheat and all available wheat resources into Ensembl Plants.
  • Also responsible for running for every release the Ensembl comparative pipelines, as well as maintaining the Biomart Plants databases.
  • As bread wheat is a hexaploid genomes, coordinate with the Ensembl web team as well as with the Ensembl Comparative team the integration of polyploid genomes into the Ensembl framework.

  • Responsible for genome analysis Bioinformatics support, developing primarily promoter analysis and gene predictions workflows, and exposing them as BioMoby Web services.
  • The project was funded by INB, http://www.inab.org.
  • Bioinformatics support for various genome annotation projects, within the Pathogen Sequencing Unit.
  • Responsible for generating the first pass gene set annotations for the Dictyostelium discoideum genome.
