After earning his bachelor of arts in psychology from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, Angelo Artemas matriculated at Saint Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Yonkers, New York, where he earned both his master of divinity and doctor of ministry. While working toward his doctorate, Angelo Artemas became a certified trainer through the National Institute of Youth Ministry in Irvine, California.

Father Artemas’ experience in the ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese dates back to 1987, when he was ordained as an Orthodox Christian deacon. A year later, he became an Orthodox Christian priest. His career history with the Greek Orthodox church has included tenures as a pastor with the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio; director of youth ministry with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in New York City; and chaplain of Saint Michael’s Home and Rehabilitation in Yonkers, New York. Father Artemas has also served as chaplain of the Greek American Motorcycle Association, presiding over an annual event at which he blessed dozens of motorcyclists and passengers.
