A former student of Napa Valley College, Angelica McGoogan spent several years studying art and psychology. She originally began her college career as an art major and completed the courses she needed to transfer to an art college. However, after taking a psychology class as part of her general education courses, she fell in love with the subject and quickly became a psychology major and art minor. Angelica McGoogan hopes to become an art therapist and is taking time off from school to save money.
During her break, Ms. McGoogan has filled her time with a variety of positions. A former server and cashier at Sizzler Restaurant, she currently works as a server, bartender, and wine educator at Napa Valley Wine Train. In this capacity, she serves gourmet cuisine to guests from around the world and teaches visitors about Napa Valley’s wine and wineries.
Since 2011, she also has run Mac’s Animal Beanies. She created this company to sell hand-crafted crocheted animal hats.
Prior to her current work, Angelica McGoogan was a data assistance and lab intern for XOMA Pharmaceuticals, where she gained office and lab experience. In addition, she has worked as a server and cashier at Coldstone Creamery and a sales associate at Hancock Fabrics.
