An experienced law enforcement professional and former interim police chief in Ferguson, Missouri, Andre Anderson serves as commander of special operations with the City of Glendale in Arizona. In his leadership role, he has achieved several milestones, including the implementation of a traffic plan that resulted in a 30 percent reduction in fatal crashes. During his time serving Ferguson, Andre Anderson emphasized community-policing strategies to deescalate tensions and bring people together.
Throughout his career, Mr. Anderson has been honored numerous times for his service. For example, he earned the City of Glendale Innovation Award 2 years in a row. Moreover, he received the Chief of Police Excellence Award and was named Police Office of the Year.
In addition to his work responsibilities, Mr. Anderson helps lead local civic and nonprofit bodies that benefit the community. For instance, he acts as chair of the City of Glendale Diversity Committee and the City of Glendale United Way Leadership. Further, he acts as co-chair of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) Civil Rights Committee.
