• Acting as the primary point of contact for handling server side operation. • Installation and configuration of Linux OS. • Software package administration with RPM, Apt-get, Aptitude, YUM and Tar ball. • Creating LVM disk layouts, creating and extending filesystems. • User and group management • OS patching on Linux servers. • Customization and Hardening of Linux servers as per the Company’s Secured Configuration Documents. • Performance monitoring and tunning. • Job scheduling for users using crontab . • Migration application from old server to new server. • Manage YUM repository server and update repo server. • Implementation of DNS Server and records. • Implementation of servers like NFS, SAMBA, Vsftp, • Handle OS & application Troubleshooting. • Monitoring of CPU, Memory, swap and disk utilization in Linux. • Create File system using Fdisk and LVM/Multipathing. • Configure Apache & tomcat servers. • Remote administrationof Linux Server through ssh& putty • Knowledge about RUNLEVEL’s,UMASK • Apache web hosting (IP based & Name based) & Apache Tomcat integration. • Basic knowledge of Shell Scripting like taking backup & editing and adding newscript.
Other Roles & Responsibilities:
• Handling Windows OS Related issues on Remote Call. • Configuration of MS Office & Lotus Notes. • Installing and updating Antivirus & virus removal through antivirus. • Restricting users by implementing Group Policies as per client requirements. • Responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows (XP/7/2003/2008) Operating System. • Resolving & Closing Tickets within stipulated SLA. • Call logging & co-ordination with vendors. • Maintained Employee users accounts and access to the compute environment. • Giving the Permission for appropriate user and directories. • Configured and managed user accounts.
