Amannda Richline serves as the president and operator of Sy’s Piece of Heaven, a parrot rescue organization in Belvidere, New Jersey. She opened the nonprofit after adopting an abused parrot named Sy, which opened her eyes to the realities of parrot ownership. People often acquire parrots without a full understanding of the commitment involved and many parrots outlive their owners, leaving their fate in jeopardy if family members cannot find a suitable new home. Amannda Richline opened Sy’s Piece of Heaven with the intention of rescuing abused or neglect parrots and finding suitable homes for ones forfeited or displaced from their previous owners.
Beyond her work at Sy’s, she participates in numerous community and animal welfare activities. She participated in the Polar Bear Plunge in support of the Special Olympics, and engages in fundraising efforts for disaster relief. Richline also volunteered with International Medical Relief in providing health care to some of the most impoverished regions of Haiti. During her time there, she extended her assistance to Mayan Families by supporting the Hope for Animals Program.
