  • ROLE - Project Manager/Coordinator; healthcare projects.
  • CHALLENGE - inherited dozen+ overdue projects, in general badly prepared not conducted in compliance with regional strategies and policies. Customer is 2nd largest region in Sweden and consequently one of the largest employers and producers of healthcare. Other issues include:
  • » Organisational difficulties pertaining to the fairly recent merger of three county council organisations into one region.
  • » Legal constraints pertaining to patient security legislation and regulations, integrity legislation, legislation and regulations pertaining to public tenders etc.
  • » Differences of perspective between the Medical profession and Information technology experts.
  • METHOD - identified "easy wins" to quickly weed out as many projects as possible while simultaneously getting to know the organisation and the governance structure, regional strategies, and policies. Reorganised remaining projects according to current project model and regulations. All project teams organised cross-functionally from start, aiming for agile, incremental, delivery.
  • OUTCOME - TBD.

  • » Prepared, established and managed new project introducing new regional information domain for instruments (primarily - but not only - POCT) promising net savings of more than SEK 250 million over five years. Includes regional implementation and integration of:
  • > Blood Gas monitoring and analysis from Siemens (RAPIDComm),
  • > POCT process management and data governance from Conworx (POCcelerator).
  • » Regional implementation and integration of Patient Monitoring from Philips (Intellivue).
  • » Maintenance/upgrade activities for LIMS from Tieto (Flexlab). Pushing to restart all activities on this platform to maintain and develop it regionally until new regional LIMS platform is established.
  • » Consolidation/upgrade activities for POS/PTM from Atronic (Atronic PTM).
