  • CHALLENGE - inherited dozen+ overdue projects, in general badly prepared not conducted in compliance with regional strategies and policies. Customer is 2nd largest region in Sweden and consequently one of the largest employers and producers of healthcare. Other issues include:
  • » Organisational difficulties pertaining to the fairly recent merger of three county council organisations into one region.
  • » Legal constraints pertaining to patient security legislation and regulations, integrity legislation, legislation and regulations pertaining to public tenders etc.
  • » Differences of perspective between the Medical profession and Information technology experts.
  • METHOD - identified "easy wins" to quickly weed out as many projects as possible while simultaneously getting to know the organisation and the governance structure, regional strategies, and policies. Reorganised remaining projects according to current project model and regulations. All project teams organised cross-functionally from start, aiming for agile, incremental, delivery.
  • OUTCOME - TBD.

  • » Prepared, established and managed new project introducing new regional information domain for instruments (primarily - but not only - POCT) promising net savings of more than SEK 250 million over five years. Includes regional implementation and integration of:

Created peaceful working environment/structured methods of contact; cordoned off team but made sure to encourage non-disruptive contacts with customers. Introduced Agile methods as a complement. This entailed breaking with established practices that did not increase efficiency.
  • OUTCOME - Predictability, Increased Performance, and Shorter Decision Cycles.
  • DESCRIPTION: my team supported R&D globally with services based in the Lindholmen Data Centre.

  • » Restructuring/stabilising team work-flow and customer ordering/communication (liaising with/organising customer PO-teams). Through the team's concentrated efforts, in close conjunction with our customers, we established new routines.

  • » Agile project with four work-flows and two empowered self-organised teams (cross-functional with regards to all aspects of our operation: analysis-design-implementation-testing-operations-support); project took two (2) weeks from conception to start.
  • » Coordinated team effort for monthly Change Weekend and managed Change Weekends for the HUB.
  • » Meetings with the customers to streamline the order process and to escalate and troubleshoot delays.
  • » Participated in the organisation of Change-, Incident-, and Operational aspects of the HUB.

  • The city of Gothenburg in 1990 organised a consumer committee with seven members and three alternates in an independent administration - "Consumer Göteborg". Committee duties and responsibilities are regulated in the Standing Orders of the City of Gothenburg Consumer Committee.
  • The Consumer Committee is tasked with:
  • » conducting general consumer policy activities and to promote, support and coordinate the consumer activities of the city providing individual advice and support to the people of Gothenburg, and in simpler cases, help them in claiming their rights.
  • » conducting energy advice.
  • » conducting financial and debt counselling
  • » performing other duties that the City Council assigns the Committed, including responsibility for Certifying the City of Gothenburg as a Fairtrade City.
