An accomplished performing arts professional, Alec Doyle oversees all facets of programming, production, finance, marketing, fundraising and community outreach as executive director of the historic Colonial Theatre in Keene, NH. Mr. Doyle holds a bachelor of arts in cultural anthropology from the University of New Hampshire. Before joining the Colonial in 2003, he launched and managed the independent Los Angeles performance and film/video production company Visualiner. He also operated his own sole proprietorship, Doyle Productions, through which he directed multiple critically acclaimed stage productions, such as “Long Day’s Journey Into Night” for the Pacific Resident Theatre and “The Playboy of the Western World” for LA Theatre Works.

  • Responsible for providing administrative and artistic direction for this 900 seat non-profit historic theatre that serves as the Region’s performing arts center, annually attracting more than 60,000 people; curating and presenting a culturally and artistically diverse season of 50+ events including mainstage shows, school series offerings, education/outreach activities, resident opera, orchestra and community arts presentations and first-run independent film; leading six functional areas comprised of Development, Marketing, Production & Facility, Audience Services, Business and Education & Outreach, consisting of seven full-time and eight part-time employees and 150+ volunteers; working with Board of Directors creating strategic direction, identifying and cultivating funding opportunities and supporting Board development, recruitment and governance; preparing, implementing and maintaining fiscal responsibility for $1.8 million annual budget; serving as primary liaison with agents, artists, media, public and civic groups; fostering strategic partnerships and negotiating rental of the Theatre and provision of services to regional arts organizations and promoters.
