To improve his prospects in the construction industry, Redwood City, CA, apprentice Alan Stinson completed the Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Fundamentals Laborers Training Program in 2018. As a result of his completion of the Redwood City, CA, program, Alan Stinson earned qualifications in OSHA safety, CPR, hazardous waste clean-up, and concrete building.
Before beginning the program, he worked as a deliveryman for diverse California companies. In his work with Bay Area construction firm SDI Insulation, he worked directly with customers.
Further, he gained experience in shipping and receiving retail merchandise as a stock clerk for Pottery Barn and TJ Maxx. Several years earlier, he lived near Boston, Massachusetts, and worked as a shipping specialist and a medical gas technician for Boston Children’s Hospital.
In his free time, he pursues his artistic interests in music and art. He is a skilled guitar player who has played for more than a decade. He also maintains his personal health with regular exercise and healthy eating habits.
