A student at Iowa State University studying psychology, Addison McFerrin most recently served as an addiction counselor at House of Mercy in Des Moines, Iowa. During her time there, she managed a caseload of 50 patients and consulted with highly skilled mental health professionals. She also presented case history material and discussed her findings with other staff members. Addison McFerrin spent a year at the facility, documenting psychiatric services and mediating conflicts within patients’ families.
Ms. McFerrin belongs to and has attended conferences for several professional organizations, including the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the Autism Society, and the American Psychiatric Association. She is certified in upgrading, fixing, and teaching computer technology. Considering it more of a hobby than a profession, she provides computer support to her church pro bono.
In her spare time, Addison McFerrin enjoys watching football and baseball. She loves reading books, particularly by authors James Patterson, Nicholas Sparks, and Jodi Picoult. In addition, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
