Drawing upon more than 25 years of business ownership and management experience, Abraham Abdallah owns 25 New York-based supermarkets under the names Foodtown, Met Fresh, and Key Food. Abraham Abdallah purchased his first supermarket in 1990 and, while adding two dozen other locations to his company’s portfolio, has increased overall sales from $1 million to $575 million and introduced innovative technology that resulted in a 30 percent decrease in customer checkout waiting time.
Abraham Abdallah also stands out as the president of Wash and Fold Super Laundry since 2010. In this position, he guides a company that owns than a dozen laundromats and manages another 25 locations. Beyond offering free laundry services to customers twice a year, he contributes monthly donations of more than 1,000 pounds of clothing to the Salvation Army and local shelters and regularly donates gift cards to individuals and families without a permanent residence. Mr. Abdallah holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a member of the American Consumer Council and The Food Institute.
In addition to his achievements in the business world, Abraham Abdallah gives back to the local community as the manager of HOPE. This Brooklyn-based charitable organization acquires discounted gift cards and redistributes them within the regional homeless population. During the holiday season, the organization also answers letters to Santa from children from low-income families.
