Detailed Description
- Provide assistance in the preparation of Airport Master Plans, facility planning and programming, and revisions to airport layout plans and environmental documents to support development of the Airport System.
- Conduct planning research and technical work related to airport operations, airspace analysis, and land-use compatibility.
- Manage all facility spatial data including: as-built project drawings, Airport Layout Plans, signage and marking plans, utility data, and planning studies for the Airport System.
- Evaluate proposed development on and adjacent to the Airport System in regards to land-use compatibility and conformance with the master plan.
- Responds to height/hazard zoning issues and inquires as required.
- Assist with the preparation and management of the Capital Improvement Program, FAA and State Grant applications and the overall grant administration process.
- Assist with the direction and coordination of projects with the consultants.
- Assist the Director and other departments in the monitoring of construction activities to ensure compliance with the specifications, FAA requirements, and airport operations.
- Review and evaluate feasibility of short- and long-range airport development projects and issues involving land-use, terminal and roadway improvements; evaluates compatibility of proposed development with FAA guidelines and Airport design standards.
- Respond to telephone and written inquiries from other departments, developers, tenants, special interest groups and the public regarding planning projects.
- Draft submittals, letters, position papers and reports related to planning projects.
